What we do for clients

Typically a new client starts to work with myself and my team when life changes or is about to, for example at or close to retirement, selling a business, when going through divorce or receiving an inheritance. We guide, plan and advise at this point and then on an ongoing basis.

What I strongly advocate is delivering advice in a simple and straightforward manner. Before we provide any advice we will always establish the one underlying question which is “What is your one overriding financial priority?” It is only when we have a thorough understanding of what you want can we create a sensible and achievable plan coupled with financial security and sound financial advice.

The aim is to assess how likely it is that will be able to meet your desired goal. However, financial forecasting via a cash flow model is just one piece of the financial planning puzzle which can help you plan a secure and successful future. Financial forecasting is no substitute for well-considered advice, but can be very powerful in helping you visualise recommendations shaping your financial future. This is particularly helpful when the area of advice with Defined Benefit Pensions.

Personal

I was brought up in Stratford on Avon, when I got married to my wife Tracy we moved to Kenilworth where we have lived since. Home life is generally pretty hectic – well with three kids – and two very energetic dogs, I guess I should expect nothing less. There is rarely a dull moment.

My background

What I love about my job, over the past 28 years working as financial adviser, is really making a change for the better in the lives of my clients. In my time I have gone full cycle in respect to advising clients to plan for their retirement in their early years to actually helping them into retirement by utilising these plans. This experience has taught me to understand how important it is to listen to my clients in order to understand their wants and needs. However, I do believe in plain speaking and do not necessarily tell clients what they want to hear but what they sometimes need to hear.
